Thoughts about your trip
My goal for your day on the water is that you have a safe and
enjoyable day. If I am able to provide you with that, I am confident
that you will return to fish with me again.
I can not always make the fish bite, but my promise to you is that
you will not find a charter anywhere else that will work harder to find
you fish! Along with this cast away is the most reasonably priced trip
on the great lakes!
Last season I logged over 1500 miles on the water. Although I share and
receive information from other charters and fishermen, I personally
spend many days on the water scouting in preparation for your trip. I
am not interested in taking you for a boat ride, I want you to catch
fish! I follow the fish, whether they are 3 miles from harbor or 15
miles out.
Nearly every charter runs its eight hour day dock-to-dock. This
means that part of your eight hour trip consists of a boat ride to and
from your fishing spot. I do not include your boat ride as part of your
day's fishing; your eight hour trip with cast away will run 9-10 hours,
depending on the distance we go to find fish.
There is one important area that I can not stress enough: the lack of
preparation to prevent sea sickness, and that oversight will cut your
trip short! I regularly see people that refuse to take the necessary
precautions because they feel it will not affect them. Trust me-- it
will!
I recommend the following:
- A good nights rest
- No greasy food for breakfast
- Non drowsy Dramamine 1 hour before we leave the dock
If you are prone to motion sickness you can contact your M.D. and
ask for a prescription. This medication is by far more effective than
Dramamine with no drowsy side effects.
